Had a friend make me an offer I couldn't refuse on a brand new set of Koya SF01 semi forged light weight racing wheels :D

I think these beauties look hot and at considerably less weight than other rims it's a bonus plus.

Thanks Dave :goodjob2: I think I like these one's better as well, the more I look at them the more they grow on me.
I was very happy with the others so the only reason I'm changing is for the weight benefits :)

Yep same size but these new ones are a 42 offset where my OX wheels are a 40.

I finally got the new Koya's fitted, was waiting on some Works aluminium wheel nuts and Advan wheel caps to arrive from Japan as Koya don't have 73mm elevated caps to fit over my front bearing bolts

Yeah it wasn't the best was it :disapp: a quick snap with the phone in the carport.

These one's should be more to your liking with the NEX-5 camera.

I knew you had your big boy camera somewhere.

Think i slightly prefer the look of the previous rims but i would run those for the lightweight-ness (new word lol)

I might use your new word, sounds better than lightness :D

Not sure which I prefer tbh :undecided: I'm very happy with these ones though so don't hold your breath for a quick rim sale in 6 months :whistler: dropped just shy of 3kg's from each corner :)

I thought you already sold the previous ones.
3kg per rim is quite impressive.

The previous ones are sold but I wont be selling these ones :)

I'm stoked with 3kgs :happydance: that includes 1.4 kgs ( 350gms per wheel ) in changing the steel chrome nuts over to lightweight aluminium nuts, who ever thought chrome nuts would weigh so much :crazy1:
Thought I'd better add chrome to the nuts otherwise Dave might start telling us how much his nuts weigh

Yeah I was surprised how light the alloy nuts are compared to steel.

Yes who knows where a couple of loose "nuts" might lead around here.

Are Aluminium nuts up to the task, though. What about the threads.

Think I'd rather stick to chrome nuts and to hell with the little bit of extra weight...  :undecided:

Seem to be doing fine so far. Its one of the latest boy racer crazes to have these coloured aluminium nuts. Have at least 4 young fellas running them at work. Although they buy off ebay etc i would, as im sure Craig did, spend the extra on a reputable brand. But im happy to stick with steel.

Its basically pointless unless your building a "no minimum weight" race car and want to drop every gram you can.

As long as you use the good ones from Japan like Works or Volks they're just as strong as steel one's, Drift cars have been running them for years :goodjob2:

Pretty much, I only bought them because I got such a cheap deal on the wheels so I thought! why have light wheels if I don't have light nuts to go with them, and I wanted black "wheel" nuts :D

Sure sure. You only got black because the pink ones were sold out.

Surely pulsating LED wheelnuts wouldn't add much weight. What were you thinking? :crazy1:

Wouldn't aluminium nuts stop you from getting rusty nuts, Rustynutz?

I'd have to change my name if I did that, Jamie...and Shinynutz just doesn't sound right...  :D
