I want to put a set of Nokian Hakka R2s, 185/65-15 on steel wheels for the winter. The online tire sites are recommending 6.5" wheels for the touring, which are on the upper limit width-wise for these tires. I prefer to go with 6" wheels with a 45mm offset, which are listed as fitting every other Elantra model. Does anyone here know if they'll fit the Touring SE?

I can't answer your question as I have no experience with snow tyres or wheels.

But I think it highlights why it's a good idea to actually talk to someone face to face in a tyre shop. You can discuss it and throw ideas around. If you like their attitude, you then decide whether or not to buy from them and maybe form a business relationship with them for the future.

I've always  found the on line sites too impersonal.

I actually have a good relationship with a local tire dealer and will be buying the rubber from him. However, his wheel prices are way out of line, which he freely admits. He has no problem with me sourcing the wheels elsewhere, as he knows he'll be seeing me for tires, mounting, balancing, alignments, state inspections, etc.
