Wash and waxed the car today and she came up a treat :) The clouds above stand out well in the reflections on the bonnet, even had enough motivation left in me to wash the bike, couldn't be bothered with waxing that as well though

Came up a treat. Love the 3-doors.

All this talk lately about car care is getting to me. I'm gonna have to do the Elantra soon. But not until after out trip to Tamworth on weekend.

Yeah not much point washing it if it's going to get filthy straight away again, washing before and after the weekend is to much hard work

Thanks lyon :)

The waxing is easy when using Meguiars Ultimate Liquid, 45 minutes to an hour and you're all done but it'll take that amount of time again to first wash and chamois the car :sweating:

Wash day again :groan: this time I decided to finish up with a double wax treatment to get some extra shine and depth and when compared to the pictures in the first post of this topic there is a notable improvement.

And the next photo is for PiL so he can check over my tyre and wheels cleaning :D

Don't jinx me Dazz :winker: no dents so far on the girl, just a few small chips in the front spoiler from bloody trucks that come flying down a couple of the roads here where the new houses are getting built

I approve of this.  :D :goodjob:
(But I do like a 'wet' looking tyre personally)

I've always found that the wet looking tyre shine always flicks up all over the guards :disapp:

I use a polymer tyre gel that's completely dry in a couple of minutes and is water proof so it lasts for at least a month :goodjob2:

Is that polymer in a spray can? I've used one that was clear and different one that was a foam. Both forms dried pretty well I thought.
Dont like the painted on crap my mechanic used to use

No it's a liquid that you apply with a foam applicator, it's called "Forever Black Signature Series Professional"

I cant remember where I got it from but I've used this bottle for about 5 years and it's still half full.

I'm a fan of the spray on foam for the tyres. Don't remember what brand it is but it's fairly inexpensive. Interior is normally armour all.

I remembered where I got it  Autobarn, but it looks like they no longer stock it so I'll have a look in the store tomorrow maybe :undecided:

Another product that I might give a try is the Meguiars Gold Class gloss tyre gel, reviews say it lasts for weeks and I do like my Meguiars products :D

I might give it a go too lol.
They probably have a wheel cleaner as well.

The standard hyundai wheels are an absolute pain to clean. I hate the small gaps between the spokes... my brush doesn't even fit inside.

Yes Meguiars have a wheel cleaning product :goodjob2: be careful using a brush on the factory rims, the plastic edges will scratch those rims so easy :disapp:

Are you saying that the plastic handle on the brush can scratch the rims??  Geez they just dont make em like they used to.
How do your new rims stand up to scratching?

Anything that touches those factory alloys will mark them, the coatings are very soft and Hyundai left marks on my original alloys after re-balancing the wheels which I didn't notice till a month or more later and they denied doing it

No marks on the new rims yet but I only ever use rags and a sponge on my wheels.

I still haven't transferred those rims on to mine (as you would have seen today, Craig).
Hopefully this coming week.  :D

maybe they should coat the rims with the same plastic they use on a dunny brush.

i only bought the brush because there was no way the sponge was gonna fit into those gaps. turns out not even the narrow wheel brush i bought will fit.
time to let the chemicals do the work.

I do like that about the standard FD SLX alloys. They're all smooth with no sharp edges and easy to clean with a sponge. :victory:
