Although my annual mileage is lower than it has been I was still able to combine my rhd shine red 2009.5 model year 1.6 u2 crdi 6 speed comfort hatchback's first MoT with its 100,000 mile service. It's been independently serviced every 20,000 miles and the only replacements in the first four services (total cost £464.48) were oil (5/30) and oil filter. For the 100,000 mile service they arranged the MoT test (they don't do them themselves), charged for the nearside headlight bulb they changed for me at 96,000 miles and changed the oil (5/40 this time) and replaced the oil, air, fuel and pollen filters. I parted with £258.57. The only advisory from the test was that a rear tyre was worn close to the legal limit, but at 100,000 miles this was expected. At 97,000 miles I replaced the rear wiper blade by buying a twin pack of wiper rubber strips. As each is double the length required I had four for £3.99.
The front tyres were replaced at 38,000 miles with a pair of Marshal KH35s for £47.00 each (£94.01 the pair!). Like the 185/65/15 Hankook Optimos they wore prematurely on the inner shoulders and were changed at 74,000 miles for Hankook KinergyEcos which were £59.00 each. The wheel alignment was adjusted for £20.00 and they are wearing evenly. The rear wheels have been rotated with the spare and given that one of them is still legal after 100,000 miles I hope the car will reach 150,000 miles before replacements are required.

The overall average is 62.7mpg. The dashboard displays for average speed (43mph) and fuel consumption (64.9mpg) have never been reset. As my odometer under reads when compared with on line distance information and motorway km marker posts (but not those on the M25) the true mpg is likely to be somewhere between 62.7 and 64.9. The biggest fill has been 61.43 litres after which I drove 902.1 miles before adding more fuel. Since filling with 56 litres on the first day I've fuelled 139 times which equates to about 52.13 litres every 719.6 miles. I try to drive efficiently rather than economically and naturally I would let a hearse pass for fear of making someone late for their own funeral, but as most dairy products are now long life I would be less likely to let a milk float overtake.
