I'll be really interested in your comments Rusty as these are the tyres I will look at at replacement time, based on Alan's comments and others'.
Anyhow, I think I'll reserve my judgement a bit longer as far as their quietness is concerned.
Don't jump the gun yet, fellas....like I said it was very windy so I was hearing a lot of wind noise.
Ok, after driving on a variety of different road surfaces yesterday I'm happy to say I reckon these tyres are quieter. Not massively so but definitely quieter. Now, hopefully we get some rain soon....
You may recall that I did a lot of research about tyre noise before I changed to Continentals. I wrote to several tyre companies asking which tyres in their range offered the quietest ride. I posted on this forum the following statement :_Although my earlier road tests of the various models had proved that the new car is a considerable improvement over the previous model for cabin noise, I arranged for the dealer to change the standard Hankook Ventus Prime 2 tyres to Continental Premium Contact 2 before I took delivery. These Continentals are generally recognised to be one of the best for quiet running. Before making this decision I did a lot of internet research and corresponded with various tyre manufacturers. Continental advised that the Premium Contact 2 tyres are the least noisy in their range – better in this respect than their later Premium Contact 5 tyre which has been developed to provide improved tyre wear and better extreme wet grip. Continental admitted that other major brands produce tyres that are as quiet – but claim that none are quieter.I am happy to buy the less durable tyre in order to reduce cabin noise to the absolute minimum. The car is equipped with a temporary space-saver spare wheel so only 4 new tyres were required.
consider, believe, perceive, estimate......

I'm reading between the lines here. If you didn't notice a significant difference immediately - noisy drive in and a quiet drive out - then there can't be a lot to notice. I've always found that just getting new tyres makes a difference, whatever they are.
