none of them will, but why do you need to be able to see it at night? you identify then easy enough in the dark, as the shape of them is unique to any other button on the same pannel.
I find if i rest my arm on the door sill, i can reach the controls with ease, and ive n ever folded the wing mirrors in while trying to put the drivers window down...

yes, the SLX model CW gets it... sadly my 2011 SLX doesnt :(      wonder if it is a simple case of buying the mirrors off a CW and swapping them onto my hatch? the wiring for every option seams to be there...

Can someone elaborate on this feature?  I've got an Elantra Touring GL (i30cw re-branded) and I don't think I've got electric folding mirrors.  I know the mirrors can fold in, but I don't think there's any motor that does it (or maybe I haven't found the magic switch).  I do have power mirror adjustments though.

That link didn't go directly to the source but it eventually led me to the image that includes the switch (first attached pic).

In an Elantra Touring service pdf I found there is this (second attached pic) similar but different schematic of a similar switch that appears in my car.

It'd be nice to have that feature.  What all is involved?  Is it an extensive mod where mirror motors need to be installed multiple new parts ordered etc... or just a replacement of the switch and the armrest plate?

I'd imagine it's an expensive mod as the existing electric motors only actuate the mirror surface, not the whole housing.

im not sure it would be expensive, i have noticed my car has the wiring, and bulbs etc for other features that arnt available for aussie cars, example is the dual filaments in the upper tail lights, and loose plugs unused on looms that go to places other switches would be,  so fingers crossed, the wiring might already be there, just need to buy a new switch, plug it onto the existing loom, and new mirror, plug it in, and there you have it...

i noticed another thread someone added a dash dimmer rheostat and it was a simple case of just buy a new switch, plug it in to the existing loom, and it worked..

I envisage the new unit (mirror) would need two motors. One to move the mirror lens as it does now and a separate motor to pivot the whole unit back and forward. So I think the big cost would be the replacement wing mirrors. Waddya reckon they'd be worth from Hyundai? :faint:

All models of the CW get the folding mirrors in Australia (even the SX base model) Although I doubt Trish will ever use it... :whistler:

Are the folding mirrors the ones I've seen with turn-signal indicators on the outside or is that an unrelated co-incidence?

Also, I figured this thread would be a good place to toss this video link for those who haven't seen it already

Does anybody know how to do this? I want it :(

In regards to installing the folding wing mirrors, the area which holds all the switches, door arm rest, you can replace the hard plastic bit, by removing door trim and screws below the arm rest. you would need the folding mirror switch, and the wing mirrors themselves afaik are on a different motor altogether. Which, if forced on a car which has electric folding wing mirrors, can damage the motor.

but more importantly.
How can i get mine 2 do the power windows up and folding wing mirrors?

My car has powered windows and electric folding wing mirrors as standard, so surely its just programming?

i asked a wreckers/breakers in Adelaide how much for a second hand pair on a cw they had, and he wanted $350 for the pair.   I'd hesitate to guess what they cost new.  :scared: :sweating:

Folding mirror with turning indicator is a factory assembled part. All models in Taiwan have it.
Special window function is a device added to the mirror wiring, which is a non-Hyundai accessory and quality could be vary.

Wouldnt all the add on's need to be recognised by the body computer too, so that signals from switches would be recognised? Maybe a trip to a Dealer for body computer alignment?

Or would these jusy be "plug & play"?

I'd like the remote Window Winder thingy... Mrs Ffoxys 03 (2003) base spec Fiat Stilo had them, & very useful too on hot days or hot climates... not so good if you always have your keys in your pocket or a child who plays with your car keys on rainy / snowy days tho....
