Title: I30 (FD) Thermostat Temperature Reading After Replacing Stereo
Post by: aullah on December 30, 2018, 12:46:02
Hi all,

I have been considering replacing my current 2009 i30’s radio for a CarPlay double din unit. The current stock one has the outside temperature on the top left of the screen, which I do find useful.

If I replace my existing radio, will I still be able to see the thermostat reading somehow? Perhaps on the new double din or on the screen in the middle of the speedometer.

Thank you in advance. :)

Gah! I was hoping to see a reply. I'm doing the same thing soon.

That's part of why I haven't upgraded. In all the years on this forum, I haven't seen anyone do that yet, and that tiny downgrade would bother me.

If your upgrade includes Android Auto (I don't know about carplay - never used it) My car displays the current temperature for the suburb you are currently driving through on the media screen (in some modes at least) most of the time it equates to the same temperature as the car is displaying although a couple of times today my car said 21c and AA said 19c.
