I am pretty sure all the new petrol cars have knock sensors in the system This picks up preignition and retards the timing to stop it. With a higher octane fuel the engine will not ping so easily so less retarding of the timing and this will help the engine performance. Since the demise of lead in the fuel spark plugs don't foul up. I have a Rodeo ute with 250 000 kms on the clock and has had 5 sets of plugs in it

I'll drink to that, having a glass of chilled Houghtons White Classic (ye olde White Burgundy) right now. :harhar: :drinks:

Anyway my i30 2 litre is addicted 95 RON since new, not a drop of E10 has passed it's lips, save for the initial $20 worth put in the by the Dealer. :evil: :blubber:
