Just a short review of our latest purchase.. only cost A$149 via Ebay (some wanted a lot more!!)



Only a bit over 2 minutes but is still a 282MB video (as in full HD) if you select that option (if you have a fairly slow ADSL like us) or dial up you will need to buffer it for some time before viewing..

Hope you like it (my voice sounds a bit flat lately.. I used to get stirred because it was so animated  )

that's a great little camera for $150 dazz.    my sons vc is a jvc and looks very similar to yours. $500 is what it cost though.  :-\    and your voice is the same as when i met up with you and Trish,the same as in your videos.

Just as an aside, the Spirit of Tasmania just doesn't have the "presence" that the old "Spirit" had....

There was just something about a block of flats plonked on top of a hull that I liked...

That was a great review. Compared with my "latest" camera it's as sharp as a sharp thing

Don't think I'd be using the zoom function while driving alone, which is what I'd buy one for, but to be able to detach it from the suction mount and go walkabout I think it represents superb VFM

what file size do the stills come up as?

The largest size is 3648x2736 The stills I took are on our main Pc I am using one of our laptops at the moment but although they say it takes up to 10MP stills they are around 2.5MP with compression I think.

There is an option to choose a wide format photo which is 3264x1840 and is a bit smaller file as well I think I will leave it set to that.

The stills I took for the review were of the largest size but only fine quality (I have now reset that to superfine) larger files but less compression.. Will probably still use our Panasonic Z28 for more important still shots

Update on my little Benq M1 .. I adjusted the still pix to super fine quality and have now decided that at $149 it is as good if not better for stills than any other point and shoot at that price .. The stills are quite sharp and well lit with little or no distortion and remarkably free of Jpeg artifacts under close inspection 

It appears to match the Nikon S570 which is our every day 5x Zoom point and shoot with the added benefit of full 1080p Video as well.

I picked up a spare battery off Ebay for $7.99 including delivery    and quite a good little (full size) tripod for $15.95  (delivered) from ebay as well
