EGR Valve

I got my car back from the dealer this morning after an overnight stay to have the steering rack replaced, leaky aircon fixed and a problem causing a puff of smoke and bouncing revs at start up investigated. Well, the steering rack has been replaced as expected, so has the aircon condenser and the EGR valve which they say was clogged and causing the smoke. The difference in the cars performance is quite noticable now. Has anyone else had the same issue?

EGR problems in all makes are very well documented. I've seen i30 (fd) air con condensors new for under £70 today too....
