  • Sorry, but my karma just ran over your dogma.
Lubricious, my 2010 1.6CDI CW is one year old tomorrow. She has taken me 28916km in that time without missing a beat. She is drinking about 6.8 l/100km.

Because I love her so much, I'm buying her a 30000k service to be delivered next Tuesday. So far I have tricked her up as follows

Outside

* Front fog lamps.
* Headlight protectors.
* Bonnet stone guard.
* i30CW sticker below front Hyundai logo.
* Gas lift struts for the bonnet.
* Tuning chip.
* Front & rear mud flaps.
* 18 x 7.5" Hyundai i45 rims.
* i30 Icon wheel rub inserts.
* Hyundai valve stem caps.
* Front window weather shields.
* Auto fold mirror relay mod.
* Chrome door handle covers and cups.
* Side decals with 3D"i30CW Sports' decals on both sides.
* Rear quarter glass decals.
* Brushed aluminium mini antenna.
* Rubber protector for the rear bumper edge.
* Hayman Reece towbar kit.
* Spoiler.
* Brake light mod.

Inside

* Hyundai dash and floor mats.
* Leather steering wheel cover.
* Chrome auto gear knob on order.
* Steering wheel audio controls.
* Cruise control.
* GPS in cubby hole mod.
* Mobile phone in storage compartment mod.

Pip
UM, I'm interested to know what this is?
* Auto fold mirror relay mod.

You are talking about external mirrors right? Surely this involved adding motors? I am curious because you just mentioned a relay.

Pip, here is the link to the ebay store of the Korean supplier I purchased the relay from.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Kia-06-09-Optima-Rio-Lock-folding-Side-Mirrors-Relay-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem3a5bb4f363QQitemZ250646688611QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories

They don't seem to have any relays for i30s on their site at the moment, but the link shows exactly the same thing for a Kia.

I have got a basic translation of the Korean installation instructions from member D-Rob, but my auto electrician hasn't had time to install it yet.

Hope this helps.

The relay will autofold the mirrors when the fob locks/unlocks the car. Does need the electric mirror assembly but UM has that already, see here

OK then, as I thought. I'm assuming the electric mirrors are a standard feature for CW in Oz.

your 100% correct pip,but only with a push of the button on the  arm rest. what UM has done is wired them up so when you lock/unlock the car, the mirrors fold in or out :goodjob:

And I thought my 4.4 l/100km  (53 mpg) was not particularly good.

Great, thanks for that.
I really like those rims - probably because they are genuine Hyundai and they look stock.
I like the gas struts for the bonnet too. Great idea.
