Is in the low power version and high power version (90 vs. 115) other differences than inside original chip, mechanical... Can I get the same power out both engines with chip tuning.

Why would you worry?
like if you had the choice of 90HP or 115hp, just buy the 115hp, if power is not important and you only want economy buy the 90hp. but why wouild you buy a 90hp then want to make it into 115hp?
if you have no other choice but a 90hp then i can understand that. here we just have one diesel & one petrool, diesel is 1.6 CRDi i think it's 85KW so 115hp about 250nmTQ if you measure that in foot pound its a lot less.
cheers

A few months ago, on the Ceed forum, there was a user that worked at the factory. From what he said, there is no mechanical difference between the 90 and 115bhp version, only software.
He told that if you knew the guy at the service, you could ask him to install the 115 ECU software, and you'd be done!

In Sweden....
You don't need to pay any "road tax" the first 5 years if you choose the 90hp version.
And free parking in most of the cities in Sweden.
No congestion charge in Stockholm Sweden.

I bought 90hp and "turned" it to 115hp one.

115hp was about AU $3,000 more and you pay about AU $200 per year more for basic insurance..  :) That was the reason I bought 90hp one.

Most say there is no difference between the two engines, but I'm not sure. I asked my dealer the same question and they've also said it's the same engine.. But the thing that confuses me is the fact, that you can tune 90hp version to approx 115hp, but 115hp engine to 130+..

Not for new cars. They have stopped selling 90 in the UK, only the 115 is available, and courtesy of a slightly higher 3rd gear it rates at 119g/km co2 and therefore is now £35 VED. I think it goes down to £30 next year.

There also is listed a U2 variant of the engine, same bhp but with an extra 5nm of torque (260), I'm hoping this is what I'm getting but its not mentioned anywhere what the start of build date is for these.

Yours can do the same as the 115version.
I don't have a hyundai, I have a Ceed, and on the microcat (parts catalog), it only mentions 1.6L diesel and the 2.0L diesel, has no distinction in power... this indicates all the 1.6L diesel engines have the same parts.
I think KIA/Hyundai have release the 90bhp version to a have an engine with a little bit less fuel consumption.

Maybe (I dont know) the 90 is a fixed turbo and the 115 has variable geometry? Thats the difference between the the ford/peugeot 1.6 motors.
