Title: Email reminder for service
Post by: druggist on May 18, 2018, 06:50:42
Just received an email reminder from Hyundai Australia that my wife's i20 is due its 36 month service. Last service performed 20/12/2018.

We purchased it new in early December 2015 so someone can't count.

Called Hyundai Australia to query and they claim that this email is tied to the date that the compliance plate was put on the car. Checked and confirmed that service isn't due until  December 2018. However in an act of poor customer service they say they can't fix the date and so I will receive the incorrect reminder every year.

Just warning those that don't watch such things that this may occur.

Pity because we are very happy with the car and the fixed price servicing with roadside assist is good value in a car serviced once a year.

That would be annoying, I wonder if it could be fixed via Hyundai Australia or iCare :undecided:

So their records show it was last serviced in the future eh?  That's some system they have (and some almighty cockup too)

Looks like I can't type, should be December 2015. :whistler:

Hyundai say that they can't modify record.  :crazy1:

I wouldn't stress. As long as you stick with the schedule and the book is stamped the email is pretty much superfluous.

I assume the window sticker has the correct date on it?

The sticker suggests the "optional" 30 month service at 7500km interval. Anyway I always remove them, not into stickers or ads for dealers on plate surrounds etc.

All of which reminds me that my mother's last driver's licence had her date of birth the same as the licence expiry date.  :crazy1:

Also my view on dealer adverts, but here in NSW dealers are starting to supply number plates with their deatils printed on them
Used to be only the plastic surrounds which were easily removed.

That'd be a deal breaker for me.
