Hi Ash,

The current model Elantra mat should go very close but they probably gave your dad the pre 2006 mat..

Mine is Sunland brand mat like in the pix but we didn't know you could get them coloured and monogrammed until after my Special order ($50 at Autobarn) arrived.

Guys on here have been quoted from $58 to around $80 for the Genuine Hyundai mat which has a big cutout on the Passenger side for the airbag (I like mine better) will try to post at least one pix but for some reason my ADSL is super slow tonight.. if it takes too long i'll post pix later..

Cheers,

Dazz

Hi Again Ash,

Just a couple more things.. (As you see I didn't post a pix yet, had a lot of rain in last 24hours and seems to really slow down our ADSL for some strange reason)

Sunland quality can be a bit hit and miss (got a shocker for the wife's previous Getz ...poor stitching and fit) so if you go that way inspect it first before parting with the folding stuff...

My mat has got a flap that lifts up with the compartment lid in the top of the dash and the mat covers the whole top of the dash.. cosy... :P

Pix to come..later

I'm with AAPT (generally pretty happy - good deal etc..) but noticed last year after continuous heavy rain went slow for a day or so...still slow this morning  :(

Not quite so interested in your ADSL Dazz but I'd like to know who supplies your rain - I might subscribe...

Tassie has been quite dry last couple of years but the part where I live (North West) is getting some good falls now... :P

A better picture of my dashmat ... seeing as a lot of our overseas members haven't seen or heard of them...

They are almost a necessity in some parts of Australia. You get used to the look of them when you've had them in your last 10 cars or more...

I can understand. But why not make the windows darker?

I always have the darkest legal tint but not allowed to tint the windscreen over here and that's where the sun comes on to the dash...  :?  :?

My windscreen is Athermic, which is why I had to change my SatNav as the Navman wouldn't pick up a signal. Athermic cuts down a lot of harmful rays, but also a lot of useful satnav signals

Now that's stupid ...
I use a thermal blanket for the sun in the summer and for the frost in the winter.

Strange how in Australia with our harsh sun I've never heard of that feature being offered (It might be in the up market stuff) but never seen in in a magazine or on a TV add or anywhere but on this site....and H-F  :?

Never heard of it, never saw it and never want it.

I think it's ugly ... but that my opinion

We have sun shades we can put up to reduce the heat in the car but often you forget or no time etc.etc.. (Dashmat is easier)

It's indeed easier

Dazzler, where did you get that dashmat, ( I think you said Autobarn) is there a Model No. or Brand, I don't think it is the same "Sunland" I was looking at.

Yeah it was Autobarn but Supercheap could have got me one too..I got it probably 18 months ago.. Sunland may have changed their design now..don't think it has a model number?
