Correct you are. But civilised we are most definitely not!

The majority of the indigenous SA culture doesn't believe in modern medicine, let alone that diseases like these exist. This is why we have an AIDS epidemic and why our rhinos are being poached for their horns and elephants killed for their tusks - because traditional healers believe that medicines crafted from cow dung, rhino horn and sand cures everything, from bad debt to lost lovers to erectile dysfunction

Our current president believes that if you take a shower after having unprotected sex, you will not get AIDS if your partner is infected. The president before him blatantly denied AIDS existed and said it was a scaremongering tactic to prevent people from reproducing.

We really are a banana republic
