Hello guys, owner of a 2017 i30 diesel 1600 110hp.
I have the car for 2 months now, and with the first cold weather (I don't know if this matters), car started to buzzing(glass sound) at 1000-1400 rpm when I accelerate or leave the pedal.

I have read similar posts here, but the are a lot of noises so I don't know what to look first.
Any help would be appreciated m8s

Hi  and a big  :wttc:

While driving, try pressing (or asking a passenger to press) the plastic pillar at its base, to see if it changes the sound... might need some padding.

Hello to you too and nice to meet you here..

I put this "pads" cause I also was hearing plastic creaks.
The creaks is gone but now I hear a lot more this glassy noise.
I also forgot to mention that if I leave this spot to the sun for hours, this sound is still there but not too loud.
This is the patch I made to stop the creaks.

Ps :sorry if my English is not so good

Nice to hear you get some sun!!

Those pillar covers do work loose - I've had to fully pad the pillars on our Toyota as we used to get the EXACT same noise you posted.

The fact that you say it makes a difference when warm, does suggest there's a gap somewhere that would benefit from extra padding against the glass.

Maybe a passenger could try pressing different sections of the plastic pillar cover to see how (or if) it affects the noise?

Definitely going to try it tomorrow. I will sit in passenger side to press it myself.

I know the are loose down on the pillar on both sides, the weird thing is that there is no sound on drivers side.

It's a big help to hear that you have the exact same sound, 3 years of hard work to get this used car, 2 years mechanical parts warranty made me calm when I bought the car, but buzzing??
It drives me crazy.. I enjoyed the car only for a month.

You suggest padding the spots that are loose?
This will be tricky

Tricky? Yep, but some small foam padding poked into the gaps should sort it out - that's what I used in our CH-R 2 years ago and the sound has never returned.

Good luck mate.

You mean to put them there??
The pillar is loose in this spot when I pressed it.

Can you send me a photo of the pads that you used to get an idea?
Or better a photo of the spot tha you put it?
I know that I am asking a lot, but I'll take my chances

That line you marked is where I poked the foam into our CH-R, which solved our problem. We needed a little extra just below and above that too, so all the way from base to top. Poke in as much as you can - foam is cheap but get soft foam padding, not hard.
