My shine red Edition has this day passed the MOT test for the third time which indicates that it is now six years old.  The MOT test technician/mechanic said 'It's still like brand new car... ' which is is.  It has 30000 miles on the clock and drives very well indeed.

Up to now it has cost me two new tyres and a new battery, it still requires a nearside door mirror shell but being advised by my cousin who spent many years in the body shop said, 'don't replace it till you have too' i.e. if your selling, cos if ya do, some daft sod might come along a clip the replacement  :goodjob: :goodjob: :goodjob:

Good to hear, Asa :goodjob:

However, if it's 6 years old that'd be it's 4th MOT wouldn't it?

3 years = MOT1
4 years = MOT2
5 years = MOT3
6 years = MOT4

Good work asa... sadly mine isn't due an MOT for another two years. I say sadly as I rather enjoy the MOT process having always owned cars older than three years old. Learnt a lot about mechanics (and how to detect a dodgy mechanic/garage) with various repairs over the years.

I heard that the first MOT was to be postponed until a vehicle reaches 4 years old. Not sure whether that's been enacted.

Just a bit of useless (but interesting) information I came across the other day.
There is a Yiddish word, "Trepverter"
It means a witty comeback you think of only after it's too late.
