Hello,

For more than a month now, I hear a noise coming from the driver side especially on bumps, when I am braking to stop or sometimes when I turn to max.

My  mecano replaced the steering ball joint 2 weeks ago  but the noise is still there.

I took some pictures and I am worrying about a wishbone bush who's looking kind of weird to me.

Photo of the other side :

What do you think about it ?

Thanks and have a nice day

here is a clear difference from your two photos. There appears to be more of the bush showing out the top of the wishbone on the side giving you the noise, so if the wishbone is lower then could explain the noise if the wishbone is hitting the metal mount when it drops at a pothole or similar. Is there any visible metal on metal impact?
I do not have a GD model i30, so best to wait and see what others that do have GD version have to say.

Looks like the bushing has popped out. Usually they just dry with age and crumble...

I had noise on near side, left, and few days later the spring broke.

While waiting for replacement the otherside was checked and that was showing signs of breaking.

Both replace plus drop links which can also create noise when giung over bumps/pot holes.

Surely if bung missing/issue with arm then mechanic should have noticed.

I planned to replace the lower control arm bushing next week. I order a new control arm and i hope it's gonna be not to difficult to replace it by myself.

Any advices ? I already know that putting some wd40 a day before is not a bad idea

I will let you know if the noises end

Hello,
So I replace my lower control arm yesterday and indeed the bushing was halfway up, torned apart.
The other bushing was fine and the ball joint too.
Replacement was not really difficult, but we spent hours to separate the ball joint from his place. Lot of corrosion.

Noises are gone ;-)
