Scotty Kilmer (YouTube) recommends using a silicone spray to 'condition' the rubber and prevent it drying and cracking. Earlier today I got this from Toolstation. Does anyone else do this?
I probably don't keep my cars long enough to worry about conditioning my boot release rubber, but thanks for the Scott Kilmer link. I'd never heard of him, but with that many subscribers and views I'll have to check out some of his videos!

I subscribed to that Scotty Kilmer guy as with 2 million subscribers and millions of views on some of his clips I thought he must be amazing! I lasted 3 minutes and then unsubscribed! (what an annoying voice and manner!)

(what an annoying voice and manner!) I was going to make comment but , hell , you need to diversify. Staring to think there's only 2 things you look at on the web. In the past I thought he was ok, then I found a better religion! What annoys me most now is his exaggerated titles, so you click on something expecting one thing and get a whole lot of other rubbish. He's also heavily sponsored with product. For the purists, there's a lot better if you want technical knowledge and fault finding. South Main Auto, Pine Hollow Diagnostics, Diagnose Dan, Scanner Danner, and Eric the car guy althyough he can whine on a bit. I would put Scotty at the end, sometimes it can break the monotony.

I mix it up a fair bit on the net (all different sorts of Porn - only joking) Even though his voice can also be a little bit annoying I enjoy Doug De Muro's reviews. Not that I can talk about voices (mine is rapidly disappearing!)

See photo in post #24If so, it just pulls off as held in place by slightly raised lug.
