I'll help with the rubbing down :victory:
Any chrome on the SR? Blacken those off too to make it look uniform. They have some businesses around here that do everything from badges to wheels. My son was looking into it as he wants to get his Audi done.

Got my Hyundai symbol blacked out recently.
Can't recommend the bloke who did it....
Dazz, why not do them in black plasti dip first and see if the look is what you're after, if you like it then get ya mate to do the professional job at a later date.
Or... :D I think black chrome would go well on a red car but it would be awkward having to get the tyres removed - wheels prepped and chromed then tyres refitted.

Think it's a definite goer! Thanks to Hemmi for modding my picture. Don't think I'll do the red pinstripe though!

I vote for the pinstripe, especially as a rim protector for the next mishap. :whistler:

What happened to the set for Firty ?The rear skirt has had its colour match respray and is due for the clear coats, after which I'll bring it home and fit it, during which time I'll also upgrade my brake calipers to genuine Brembo.:whistler:

I don't like black wheels. I think the new i30 looks great as it is. Black wheels are a current fashion which will soon be abandoned.
I knew my luck would change one day :happydance:
@CraigB don't fall over with shock mate, but I think I actually agree with you for once about going satin rather than gloss.

Not sure :undecided: I reckon a normal satin (semi gloss) would look better imo :)
Garry is suggesting we use metallic paint. Can you get satin metallic? :undecided:

It's come up really nice Dazz :goodjob:
Has a hint of i30 N about her now.. :whistler::lol:
Hi Dazz,
The satin matches the rest of the black trim nicely.
Glosss would have been "cheap and nasty ".
Good job gents, :goodjob2: :goodjob:
Highly salubrious Dazz :goodjob2:

Yes, with my interpretation it meant upmarket. :D Took me ages to convince my wife it was a real word before we had a computer.
sorry to hijack your post dazz but has anyone used this paint to paint wheels before? and how did it look after a year?

:link: VHT Wheel Paint Clear Coat (https://www.autobarn.com.au/vht-wheel-paint-clear-coat-sp184)
Looking to paint mine gloss black. I've done it in the past with my old car and was happy with the immediate result but after a few months or a year or so, the colour went from gloss black to ashy. No matter how much i cleaned it, it never got to the gloss black colour again. Perhaps the step i missed spraying clear shiny coat would have helped and prevented this?
Does anyone else have experience with this? really keen for black wheels on my white SR but this put me off DIY. everyone else seems to have positive experience tho

Very, very nice. When my funeral insurance is paid out I am going to get one of those and paint my wheels black. :snigger:
Hi Dazz,
The way you're going, you'll have a black car with red highlights,
