Hi all,

My FD (2009, CRDi, 94k) has a very noisy rear suspension when driving on an unlevel surface. I did notice it last year when I bought the car (used), but had always thought it was a result of those junks I had in the boot. However I emptied the boot today, including the spare tyre, and it still making those noise.

I vaguely remember reading something about 'rear suspension problem' on i30, but couldn't find anything here.

Anyone could advise something?

Cheers

Suspension bushes worn and/or droplink worn. Both are quick and cheap fixes.

Shambles and eye30: Is it something I could fix myself? Or better to have Hyundai fix it? Any website or step-by-step guides? Thanks...

Hi Kimmie, I know this sounds stupid but I  did have a car in our workshop once with a complaint that the rear shockers were making a noise, after a lot of investigation it turned out to be as simple as the rear number plate rattling , saved the guy a fair bit of money. If it is a deep sounding knock then obviously it is not that. You have probably been through a fair number of checks but if you have not already done so check your exhaust to make sure it's not hitting the underside of the floor.  It may well be the bushes but it pays to check the simple things first .Hope you sort it out soon ,best of luck.

Is it still under warranty?

If so, get it looked at by dealer for warranty fix/claim.

If plastic cup then you can just push into place but they will probably come loose again.  Think warranty claim as well

It is still under warranty. Is it something that should be fixed 'under warranty'? I will have my wife to make and appointment with the Hyundai dealer next week.

Many thanks...

No harm in trying, if it is the cup issue then others have had theirs fixed under warranty.
