Hi everyone - I am new to this forum so sorry if this has been covered elsewhere. I have recently bought a Hyundai I30 Diesel Hatchback 1.6 CRDi (128) Blue drive Style 5dr, and am generally very pleased with it. I'm getting to grips with the more intricate details, but there's something I can't quite work out re the eco drive gear change indicator. In the manual it says: "This indicator informs you which gear is desired when driving to save fuel. For example ^3 indicates that shifting up to 3rd gear is desired, and v3 indicates shifting down to 3rd gear is desired." Fair enough - but my indicator only ever tells me when to change up, and never down, even if I try deliberately not changing down and driving along in top gear at about 40 mph. Is this normal? Or is it a fault? Any advice would be gratefully received...

My Style Nav only gives me the "up" finger, not a downshifting one either.

Gonna turn mine off anyway, in the settings.

My last two i30's only displayed the upshift and not downshift.  My current Venga is the same - but I never bother to look at it - most of us good drivers know intuitively when to change gear.

I turned that feature off not long after purchasing the vehicle because if your looking at when to change gears then your not looking at the road ;)

To answer the question though only upshifts are shown.

Of course this is true - if patronising* - but if there's a fault on my new car, however small, I would like to know about it. It does seem that this function is not as described in the manual.

(* judging by the signature line on your posting I am guessing this is your form of humour)
