Title: Michelin Energy Xm2
Post by: beerman on January 05, 2017, 22:50:35
It's that time again,

The Toyos on the good Wife's vehicle are on their way out. She will have gotten 50k out of them (Can't convince her to slow down when she drives up the gutter and onto the driveway  :head_butt:). She spends her time driving the kids to and from school and around town. The car only gets a good run on the highway when I take it to work (Which will stop when the lease expires in February).

Looking for new tyres. The Toyos have been good, and killed the originals which I had to replace at 38k.

Supercheap has the Michelin Energy XM2 for $376 delivered. I can get my mechanic to throw them on at the next service which will no doubt be cheaper than their fitting fee ($80 ouch!!) plus I get to give him a bit more work, which I am always keen to do as he is an excellent bloke.

I have also been thinking about the Turanza Serenity plus based on the posts elsewhere but have been too lazy to get a price yet.

Any other suggestions?

Oops, sorry, Trev, been skimming posts too fast and lost sync.

They're in Dandenong, Vic. Funnily enough, their website account has been suspended. I wonder why. :snigger:

I have Turanza Serenity Plus on my GD. To be honest, I barely noticed any difference in quietness after replacing original  Hankooks. Ride quality is marginally better.

I'm running Goodyear Assurance Triplemax in 15".
But they won't be anywhere near that Michelin price, even including the $80.
But quiet,  smooth and great in the wet. Expected wear,  somewhere above 60,000 klms.

They'll be going on my wife's Corolla as well this year.
