gd i30 u2 engine question

hi
I bought gd i30 elite manuel crdi  it has U2 engine 128 hp  two type of u2 engine 115 hp and 128 hp What are the differences? only software or have some mechanical upgrade

I'm not sure how they arrive at the different outputs - we only get one in Australia.

I think must be some upgrades becouse 128 hp 's engine new and I think hyundai picks up some feedback and change sometink :)
How much power do earn with remap

How much power do earn with remap

The 128 HP U2 engine have been available here since 2010, where the 115 HP was taken off of the program. Thus I believe the GD i30 have the exactly same engine as the latest FD models.

Gearbox ratios have changed, and no doubt the ecu is mapped accordingly.

If you would remap (tune) your 115 HP/255 NM you could easy get 140 HP/300+ Nm

there is a difference between HP & PS, PS i think could be SP's.

My car has 128 hp u2 engine if all parts are same 128 hp/260nm up to 140hp/300+ nm or  much more power some tuning web links 115 hp up to 145,128 hp up to 160-165-170 I can not understand becouse if all things are same its have same limit

With the same engine, it is possible to increase it's power by telling the ECU (Engine Computer) to inject fuel at different timings, rates and pressure, this can be set by performance garages and is called remapping. More fuel = more power.

You can probably tune it to a lot more if you also increase the turbo pressure, but the big question is if the drivetrain can cope with the extra HP and especially the extra torque.
