Title: Best oil filter: Is non-Hyundai brand oil filter ok?
Post by: JpHyundaiFan on May 06, 2023, 16:49:58: I am a newbie (Just bought my i30). Is it best to buy original Hyundai oil filter or can use other brands also? Like my car shop shows that "MANN FILTER" brand is suitable for my i30. Looking for quality/best.

My car: Hyundai i30 5d 1,6 GDI ISG Innovation 2013.

But I don't know what applies in Finland sorry.

Edit. Sorry just saw the year of your car. I guess warranty isn't an issue.
Any recognised good quality filter should be ok.

Mann filters are great quality, one of the more readily available quality filters in Europe and Australia.

I'm not sure if available in other countries though a good one for any Aussies are the Ryco Syntec filters, to my knowledge the Syntec filters have the best filtration efficiency % above all else

Post by: BrendanP on May 09, 2023, 00:07:19: I own a 2015 1.6 diesel. I perform the interim oil change myself, but whilst it was under warranty I bought the genuine Hyundai part. Upon opening the box I found it was a Mahle part, so now I buy Mahle from wherever I can get them at a good price. My old car is a 2011 diesel, and uses the same filter. For this car I have nearly always used Mann filters, or Hengst. It has now driven over 420,000 km so I think these filters have been doing their job. I do 3-4 oil changes per year, so I try and wait until there are good deals on filters and buy 3 or 4 at a time. For the same reason, I buy oil in 20 litre packs as this works out more economical than buying 5 litres each time.

Use www,partsouq.com to find out the OEM part number for your car, then go on Mahle, Mann or Hengst website to find the correct cross-reference. I find some auto-parts suppliers can select the wrong part, especially if they get confused with cars built in South Korea and those built in Czech Republic.

I thought Mann was the OEM for Hyundai based on the parts (air and oil filters at least) being made in Korea.
