Hello.

Speedometer & tachometer background lights went off. Now difficult to see the speed in night.
During some months the blue central display was blinking.
I possibly have the same issue as here:

How to remove the panel without damaging it?
What type of LEDs are in that panel?

If I recall correctly there are two screws that keep the cowl in that goes over the cluster, they should be pointing up (feel the upper edge with your fingers and you should feel them), after you remove this, I think there are 4 or 6 more screws then the whole cluster pulls out. Thereafter I think you split the front cover from the rear by opening the clips up. But I haven't done it recently as I sold my i30 a few years back. But this is more or less how I remember it.

Ok, thanks!

Even more important question is: what are the LED types in that instrument panel?
In that linked video "2009 i30 dashboard background light unstable" they were changed.

Now that I am not too sure about. I think there was a post somewhere where somebody gave the specs, but I cannot for the life of me find it.

Could you desolder one of the faulty ones, and maybe take it to an electronics shop for them to try identify it? My brief Google search brings up PLCC-2 SMD LED as the LEDs that might be used there

EDIT: Have a look here - :link: 2009 i30 dashboard background light unstable

Those two screws do point up, and then the cluster itself is quite a wiggle to get out.
