The only mod I've added is a Mud Guard Kit, oh and a set of i30 carpets.

I will say that the kit sets the car of brill and it also helps with keeping down spray and cr*p on the body work.

Anyone else invested in these?

I got some (after market ones) to put on but decided not to while I'm driving all over my block in preparation to build (thought they might get ripped off...)

Any chance of some pix of yours eye?

P.S. checked out my latest posting under off topic humour yet (hopefully you'll like some of them)

Cheers,

Dazz

Yes, it would be nice to see a few pics. I wondered about  buying mudguards, but they'd need to look good.

Interesting the variations in terminology (we call them mudflaps in aus)

Mudguards are the the things the wheel arches are in!  8-)

We had have mudflaps fitted to ouri30.  They are small neat hard plastic things, rather than large after market types.  I believe the Aussie accessory pdf file has illustrations of them.  I quite like them.

we both got the same body kit, i'm not sure if its possible to put a mudguard on our car.
The sides of our cars will be messy when winter comes

Hi Eye,

First pix of your car we've seen aren't they? You've got different wheels than most? (but they look like factory ones just the same? ) Also what tyres did you get ,couldn't quite see the brand but didn't look like kumhos or Hankook....

Thanks for going to the trouble of posting pix..

Cheers,

Dazz

OK I've now taken pics of car and I'll post on Pics (show your car) later today.
and yes D_D first pics of my car.

Standard wheels ex factory - 15" alloys
Tyres are standard ex factory -  Hankook Optimo 185/65/ R15 and grip road brill especially in wet, but I do have ESP as standard so that must help.

Had same make on previous Hy Accent and had no probs.

Thanks Eye...

Thought they looked like some I'd seen in a brochure. As you've probably read SX over here only comes with 15" steel wheels with plastic caps SLX gets 16" and SR 17" alloys so don't see your wheels over here unless someone specifies them as an accessory.

Cheers,

I´m from Gothenburg, Sweden. The Mud guard is standard on all i30´s here.
The e-sense is kind of a product of swedish taxes. Here in Sweden we have something called "environmentcars". Basicly I get some benefits if I buy a car that either is a hybrid, runs etanol or have emissions of carbon dioxide below 120 gram/km. For example the government gives me 10000SEK which is approx 1700AUD. Also the city that I live in gives som benefits to "environmentcars" such as 3 years of free parking for  50SEK (8AUD) which is worth many thuosands SEK. I can also park 2 hours in "10 minutes" spots!   :D

However the e-sense is a strangled 1,6 CRDI from 115hp down 90hp, and the torque from 255Nm to 235. It dont notice that much differnce but I´m thinking of a tuningbox, I do.

Hi Alesand...

Thanks for your reply (very interesting)

Australia is a great country in a lot of ways but there is not much reward or encouragement (yet) to buy an economical, low emissions vehicle, except the savings in fuel cost...

Is the i30 selling well in Sweden (I have had quite a bit to do with Volvos and Saab through my late step-father)

Cheers,

Dazz
