Today when i put car in reverse at supermarket carpark to reverse out of the space onto the service road the bleeping noise started to indicate an obstacle.

Looking in mirrors and checking to make sure there were no low obstacles i put into neutral then back into reverse.

Putting back into reverse the bleeping was still there.

Looking at the dash display it showed the nearside rear sensor was active but there was nothing in the vicinity to make it active.

Expecting there was a fault with the sensor/system i decided i'd check it out when i got home.

Back home had a look to see what the problem may be.

Expecting loose wire or even faulty module and £££ to fix started by checking the seating on the sensor.

On that sensor there was a small blob of muck just covering part of it.

Removed muck and all is well.

Quick fix......

I wash mine to often for dirt to build up on the sensors though I did read in the manual/troubleshooting section when I first bought the car that if sensors are sounding for unknown reasons...first check for debris :)

The muck was so small, to the eye you would have not even noticed it.

I didn't see the muck until i rubbed my finger over the sensor and picked up the muck on my finger.
