Title: New shape front wipers
Post by: eye30 on June 07, 2012, 19:58:45
Anyone with the new shape i30 noticed the sweep of the front wipers?

On RHD cars the wiper in front of the driver is soooo soooo big it sweeps nearly the whole front screen.

The wiper on the left, passenger side, is small.  It could appear to be redundant as it only sweeps a small arc to the top left of the passenger.

Another thing I've noticed to the arm of the left wiper, passenger side.
When the arm sweeps over to the right it stops just to the left of the drivers eye line/sight looking straight ahead.
The arm has a curve in it, a bit like looking through a hole, so as to allow the driver to see straight ahead without it impeding their straight line view but does imped the view if you are looking to your left.

Also, the arms are wider than my previous i30.

I did notice the difference in size on the Hyundai website in the photo that is showing rain-sensing wipers. The left one is a lot smaller than the right. :undecided:

Also, the arms are wider than my previous i30.

Also .... For the original i30 model, I reckon that the wiper arms on UK 2011 spec onwards cars are different to those on pre 2011 spec cars.  Found that out when buying new wiper blades.
