Thought I may as well ask now I'm making myself at home  :whistler:

I got my car when it was 6 months old, having been owned by a not for profit charity before.. and it seems to be missing the center console bit, or maybe not I'm not sure?

I am talking about the storage compartment between the seats, where you have the USB plugs. I have the little top flap that is a small compartment, then the larger compartment (where the plugs are) I can see all the way to the bottom, and then there is a gap into ....? a hole or the floor of the car.

I cant store anything in that large compartment as it would fall into the abyss :) seems silly like its missing a floor or a part? or is it designed that way as you are only plugging in your accessories?  I was going to ask when I took it in for its 30k service.. its only at 23k right now tho.

I can take a picture tomorrow if I've thoroughly confused everyone  :P

Mine would have that 'hole', if I took out the base :whistler:

Sounds like your base was removed, possibly for access to the handbrake adjustment bolt, and not replaced.

Yours is the bedrock "Flintstones" model you stick a leg down there when you need extra braking or if the battery goes flat...  :whistler:

Oh I see :)

what should I ask for then? I can't really prove that I never had it when I got it... I didnt notice til probably a month ago.

Or can I easily buy the part myself.. assuming its not that expensive if its just a base.

actually, could it be in the car itself somewhere... maybe I need to check the glovebox again I didnt even think to be looking for a spare part.

Or just fabricate one for yourself.

There's a thread on here (ouri30's, possibly?) regarding adjusting the handbrake - I think it covered removing that base. May even have a picture.

I can remember taking the base out once, but buggered if I can remember why.  Can't remember posting anything on here about it, but may have.  I may have removed it to remove the  consol itself - I do things like that - dimenture is setting in.

You took it out because it seemed loose. I remarked that mine was glued fast and didn't move. You commented how good my memory was. I replied that I couldn't remember why you posted the topic to start with

Welcome back, Bob ;)
