Google has a great number of resources that allow you to freely explore unmissable sites all over the world.

If you haven’t used Street View before, it’s a 360-degree viewing experience that you can use on the internet – we’ve got a guide for beginners if you need some help to get started.

Google Maps also has a satellite and earth function which allows you to see from above. You can check out everything from the Arabian Desert to the Galapagos Islands, but there are also some amazing historic sites to be seen as well.

We’ve got a round-up of the best wartime, military and naval locations
