Title: Remap for SR PD I30?
Post by: Lachiepower0402 on July 07, 2018, 15:55:04
Already looking for a power upgrade for my SR I30, knew it wouldn't take long, anyone got a stable tune/remap out yet?

Thanks in advance

RaceChip already have upgrades for the 1.0 & 1.4ltr turbo petrol - both levels of 1.6 turbo diesel and both levels of the N model though nothing mentioned yet for the 1.6 turbo petrol, you would need to talk with a local specialist tuner shop to get any real answer at this stage I'd think...or contact Racechip  :link: Dealer Locator - RaceChip Australia (http://www.racechip.com.au/dealer-locator/) and see if a 1.6 turbo petrol tune is in the works :Good_luck:

I would of thought the SR would be the first on their agenda, but maybe not, ill send them a message and see what they can do. Thanks

Let us know what's on offer, Lachie. If it's worth it, I'll see about Mrs G's. :goodjob:

European and US models will always be catered for first, then it trickles over to Aus :disapp:

You can get a flash tune from the US by Tork Motorsport, which is what I'm running now... It's good for a 14.2 @ 99MPH with other stage 1 mods (Plugs, 2nd cat delete, cat-back, intake, and intercooler resonator delete)

I'll be getting mine retuned by a mate of mine in Australia though, he goes by the alias KiDo Racing (Australia) on Facebook. He's tuned a few i30SR and i30N cars already, and has the ability to tune for E85 flex tune, which I'll be doing.

~$1350 for E85 flex sensor and flex tune, he told me that he can also enable the "one-touch" window up and down from the Premium on the non-Premium models

His claim is that he's got an i30SR on E85 making over 300HP on a hub dyno... I'll report back in a few months when I get a spot to have a tune done (he flies around the country to do the tunes)

Anyone thinking of trying out the Racechip might like to think twice. I have tried Racechip GTS with my 1.4 T-GDi and it didn't work out despite working with Racechip Singapore. I was getting occasional P10106 error (Map error). Racechip sent me a different harness and software to try out but it didn't fix the problem. The error was a result of the Racechip module drawing power from the sensors. Another chip tuner CPA resolved the problem by drawing power directly from the battery with a fuse in line. Racechip didn't want to do likewise so I had to return the Racechip GTS for a refund. I have gone for a Ecu tune instead and it is way better than a piggy back chip.

Thanks for the warning dinkydong, I haven't heard of any other faults at this stage, did they mention if it's a known issue or a one off?

I guess Racechip will have to upgrade their system soon or they'll end up with a lot of complaints

Well they claimed that the i30 PDs in Europe did not experience this issue but Singapore's i30 PDs are shipped from the same plant in Czech Republic. The issue only happens occasionally during start ups and not when driving. In any case, unless they can resolve this issue Racechip Singapore will not be recommending the GTS to any i30 owner.

So it's primarily an issue with the top end GTS version only ? they might have to look at a processor change if to much current draw :undecided:

I doubt so since CPA has the same issue with all their models. I doubt it will be any different for Racechip. Having said that, it's an issue with the 1.4 t-gdi engine. I don't know if the 1.6 t-gdi engine has the same issue or not.

At this stage Racechip don't provide an option for the 1.6 GDi engine and Australia doesn't get the 1.4 so currently we're safe.

i happen to be using the mid range "Ultra" chip from CPA Chip tuning for my 1.4T PD.

so far so good! quite happy with the improvement in pick up. The 1st person who ran the CPA chip bought the top end Nitro version and dynoed his ride with pretty good results, i didnt dyno but seems like a good improvement to my ride's pick up.

just be aware of QC issues in the early batches, where some of the wire harnesses were not done up properly and threw up check engine lights.

Racechip have mentioned that there will be available for the 1.6 GDi-T engine at around the October 2018.
They are in development now..

Of all the reviews I have seen in regards for Racechip have all be positive.

Vey good, and about time :goodjob2: yes I've never known of issues with RaceChip prior to what ricleo has experienced with the 1.4.

Sorry my mistake, it was dinkydong who had the issue, though he did mention CPA are having the same problem which you don't seem to be experiencing.

Original topic starter was Lachiepower0402 wanting a chip for the 1.6 turbo so at least it looks like it's going to be catered for now :goodjob2:
