Hi I'm Hemmi,

Well I'm still waiting for my car but it should arrive after June 9th after 5 months of waiting.

It's a steel gray 1.6l manual petrol and in Style edition, the Style edition here is the most expensive, it has almost everything, full leather seats, sunroof, ipod cable, rain sensors, Automatic dimming rear view mirror, Climate control A/C, Electric folding door mirrors, windscreen wiper de-icer, Rain sensor, glove box cooler, Reversing sensors, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System... cant remember anything else at the moment.
I'm thinking about getting the Sports body kit with 18" rims.

The bad thing is that since I ordered the car the price has increased.
When I ordered in January the price was 2,430,000 ISK = 16,491 Pounds = 34,178 Australian Dollars.
So I think thats a good price, cars are expensive here anyway so... I order.

but few week later everything just goes down in Icelandic economy, the Icelandic krona gets weaker and weaker and so that means other currencies are more expensive, and because of all this the price is now 2,940,000 ISK = 19,952 Pounds = 41,351 Australian Dollars.

at least its not listed in the catalog, probably cause nobody will buy it.

But I'm still thinking about buying the car because I know I will not be disapointed

My car now and for the past 3 years is 2005 1.6 Getz.

Welcome [again] Hemmi. You sure will love the car. I love my i30 diesel because of the torque it produces.

As for cost. All I can say is crikey! You are paying a lot, but then again you're getting a lot of car for your Krona. Wish I had a sunroof.

Hi Hemmi,

Welcome aboard.. everyone here has been complaining about a 3 months wait on some models. Generally when you sign a contract in Australia they honour that price. So we would have a big shock here if it went up by over 10% in the mean time! Ouch...

Great to have a member from that part of the world (so hope you still buy the car) I'm being selfish now!

Your English is good... Excuse my ignorance but don't think that is your main language is it?

Car sounds great you wont be disappointed.... It would be good if your trade-in allowance went up as well but don't suppose that will happen!

Would be interesting to hear more about your country and about the price of Petrol and Diesel over there etc...

hmm... more about my country, well we had an 6.2 earthquake 2 days ago, not in the capital but I could feel it, there are still some aftershocks, more than 2000 aftershocks, some homes damaged but no fatalities.

All the dots are earthquakes.

Earthquakes, cold weather...everything expensive....Ever thought of Emigrating to Australia? With the price of cars over there you could move to Aus and still afford a middle of the range model

Like the way you can still manage a smile when you talk about the expensive petrol etc...

Car are EXPENSIVE but you P/X went up to compensate.

Well at least petrol is cheaper than UK.

Today unleaded £1.129 per litre
Diesel £1.319 per litre

Luxury car tax has just gone up from 25 to 33% but not sure on other cars (less than 25% I assume)

went to my dealer today, aaaaand we made a deal!
i'm going to take the sports body kit + tinted windows, i'm not going to take the lowering kit, maybe later.
the car will probably be through customs tomorrow and ready on june 18th, more waiting 8-)

I was at my dealer to see my 350z come off the lorry, still with all its plastic protection, etc - mannnnnnnnn was it a good experience - got loads of pics and video!

and when you get the number it sticks with the car so if not happy then sell the car or get a private number.
