Title: Bluetooth issue??
Post by: bumpkin on June 27, 2011, 21:55:43
Now bear with me here folks, my neighbour with the ix35 appeared at the door tonight having had to call Hyundai today due to her radio freezing up.  Of course they will take a look but as usual you are liable for the cost if nothing is discovered.  I went to take a look and sure enough radio was locked to one station, no sat/nav or reversing camera....not good.

I knew she had just bought a new phone and so I disbled the bluetooth, switched off the radio and pulled the audio fuse for a reset.  Everything now works again :goodjob:

I then switched on the phone bluetooth again and instant freeze. :(

Another fuse pull and all working again.  I then deleted her phone from the list and tried to pair it again but it didn't want to pair initially.  Eventually it paired, then it froze the system again.

Now the phone is very new and is not on the compatibility list, however I would be surprised if HTC have made that big a change between the Desire / Desire HD and the new Desire S.

The thing is that when she first got the phone it paired up fine and downloaded the phonebook and was working with voice control.

Anybody got any ideas or even had any issues themselves trying to use the new Desire S with their Hyundai???

I found one guy who was having an issue with the S and his Parrot kit, which he resolved by downloading updated drivers for the Parrot, I guess that Hyundai might need a software update for that particular model, as the moderator of that forum was bemoaning HTC's choice of drivers for the S.........

Not good, this is where Apple have the march, you might have to pay for it but it works out of the box!

Hard. Boot. The. Phone.

(power down, remove battery, replace battery, power up)

If it worked when it was a virgin, it'll work again.

Someday.

Maybe.

Reading around, a good dose of rom swap might sort it out as it seems the Desire's drivers are complete b0llox. Seems to suffer/cause the bluetooth "death grip"
