I went dark enough ... but could of went one darker. The guy freaked me out a little so i went for the safer choice, of 20% in straight black. Not what they classed as Bronze Black. I went to Wetherill Park, good job and happy with it. As long as i dont put the windows down :)

-

They've done a great job
:D
-
very naais (nice) :D Look cool
-
How much did it cost? Cuz I want to tint them to :)
-
Thanks all :D
I got it done at Solartint - Wetherill Park. It cost $280.
Made a huge difference driving home this afternoon in the 34 C heat. No more burning back/arms from the leather :)
-
Wow. That is an amazing price as well. I might just have to pop down there and have a chat with them. Next time i am out at my client
-
That;s really dark! Is it legal?
-
umm.... *looks around room*
Nope
-
Didn't think it was legal. The dealer tinted mine for free, and it's not that dark.
I got the darkest legal tint on my Getz a few years back, and I could barely see into it at night, and it looks you can barely see into it during the day!

In Australia i think is a "must have" tinted windows because of the sun.. but why is illegal i dont understand.. In my country we can't have front windows not even 1%. But rear it can be 100% Stupid.. I prefer all the same

in 2007 it was legal but only 10%. And rear 55%. Now it's 0% and 100%. Really stupid if you ask me

did they give a reason for changing it?
-
European standards offically   and because the police couldn't see the driver.. Like you see it in sport cars with smaller front windows and rear 100% tinted. :D

So its a European union thing? I think it's OK to tint your front windows in UK.
-
Yes. But i think those who changed that never had tinted windows and they don't know much about it. It's just another thing on the list that was changed to "better". Yeah, everybody is happy now...................NOT (only those that never had tinted windows)

so, another reason to tell my Icelandic friends why not to join the EU
-
I guess. :D But the only good thing is easier and cheaper export/import of old/used cars. Think about it with your friends  :D

If I understand right Diva is talking about the windscreen and our European friends are talking about the driver and passenger front windows...?
It is only the windscreen you can't tint in most states of Aus...
-
yes we are talking about the driver and passenger front windows :)

Hi Diva,
What's the warranty on the tinting?
-
Sorry bout that... i guess i had a bimbo moment... had no idea it was about the front window this is why i shouldn't be on a car forum!!! I think i will just be quiet for a while. :)
Tinting has a lifetime warranty.
-
"liftime" :wink:

I got mine done last week by Rob @ Hunter Hill Tinting. He was highly recommended on a few other forums. Quite a tidy job. Went whatever was legal. Which is plenty dark enough :)
Photos to come soon. Just have to give them a clean! :)

Nope, no tint on the front windows as they come from the factory with the legal maximum. Ie - 30% on the side and 25% on the screen.
