Not sure if there is already a section for this....if there is, maybe this post can be added.

I was having a roadtrip holiday last week and needed to get my diesel's 45,000km service done mid-trip. I took my own oil and a Hyundai oil filter.

900km later I got an urge to check the electrical connection that needs to be disconnected in order to access the oil filter housing with a socket.....guess what! It was not connected.

My logbook is stamped but I am pi&&ed off at the neglect that a qualified person showed with my car.

I would be too.....

But if you think it wasn't an apprentice that did your work, your an optimist.

I would have been more likely to understand the blunder if the mechanic was an apprentice...but I spoke with him when I picked the car up.

He "may" have been a mature-aged apprentice....he was in his 40's. (It was a mechanical repair business in Wangaratta.)
Granted, it was a Friday (day after ANZAC Day)...

and I suddenly realize that am making excuses for him....SH*T....HE WAS A COWBOY LET LOOSE ON MY BABY!!!! and I had to pay him for the privilege..

Does anyone know what this wiring is for?  Surely there must be some resulting problems . . .

It hurts to be paying for someone to make mistakes.

I know the connection you mean but don't know what it's for.

I dont recall the TV program I saw it on, but apparently here in the UK, to reduce overheads, Main Dealerships are farming service work & Bodywork repairs out to back street places now on an informal basis.

Not for me they don't.

I book mine in for a "I'll wait for it service" and I check the odometer before and after.
