Beerman, Ford don't offer 5 year unlimited K warranty that i know of, i liked Ford's but my experience is after the warranty K's is reached things start to go, then dealer charge to fix. i always seemed to reach 100,000k long b4 the years of the time of warranty was reached so to me a 3 year 100,000k warranty was only good for two years. i like the unlimited but it's only offered to private users

That's ridiculous .. they are not doing themselves any favours long term (no wonder I refuse to use the dealer for service) except while our Toyota is on fixed priced servicing...

We'll have our 30k coming up in Ruby, but not for a while yet, this will be a "discussion" I'll have to have with the wife. She likes the idea of a dealership looking after her pride & joy.

Trouble is, I don't know any good mechanics that I trust. For the last 15 years I serviced our cars because they are old.
1 x 1981 & 1 x 1993, so I'm out of the servicing loop now.  :scared:

Hi, just had a quote for my 30K service, 2010 CRDi from a Brisbane dealer. They said $735 all up. Has anyone found some dealers less expensive than others?
I know many people prefer to use dealers so there is no question if and when warranty problems arise, is there any problem using another reputable workshop? Are there any Hyundai specialists in Brisbane??
Thanks

Hey moreboost, See my Reply #28 on: July 12, 2011, 12:06:35 PM on this thread.

Give the dealers a miss. My 30000km service cost $348 at Ultra Tune AShgrove. There is no impact on your warranty.

Hey Suferdude,

Just wondering since we live in the same area, where do you get your car serviced?

Thanks

The first "service" is at 1,000 kays, isn't it? I think that it's also free, but not sure exactly what they do.

There seems to be a fair range of prices for the 15k service, it seems. I notice that many of you have mentioned quotes rather than what you've actually paid. But for me that service is some time off (the car has a whopping 530 km on it at the moment...).

What is this pollen filter? Is it for the A/C? Why it is so darned expensive?

Yep, it's for the Aircon. It's also know as a cabin filter.
If you're happy to use aftermarket, you can get a Wesfil filter for around $28....... :)

Very little! it's just an inspection.. no fluid changes or anything...In most parts of Europe they don't even get that service at all...

No one mentions the time dealers quote it takes or how much they charge an hour. i think some charge $150 per hour for a broom sweeper to do the job  they probably give the kid $15 or $20 per hour?
of corse Hyundai dealers need to recover costs for equipment like the programe they plug in & do a print out or download new updates.
But my Betsy never ever got molested @ a dealer &  she ran strong when i sold her.
as i have said in the past. the CRDi is the simplest car i've had to service, very easy to get at and change oil filter, easy to change , air cleaner, easy to replace fuel filter ( if you know how ). it uses a timing chain that has a long service life ( i would expect? ). its easy to remove the sump plug to drop oil too. you no longer need to remove bolts to take the engine cover off.
so why the big difference in costs? i think it's the fear factor, the dealers use to make you think they are the only ones should touch it. but in most cases there service team only know how to ask a computer whats wrong, if computer can't tell them, they don't know.
I'll stick to someone that knows what he is doing.

It's a free service, mostly just to double check everything is ok.
With Harley Davidsons ( motor Bikes ) there first service comes up early and costs $350 about all they do is change oil, Harleys only hold about 2 or 3 Lt's.
a friend of mine had a normal Suba.... Forrister from new, not turbo charged just the normal one, always had a dealer service it. then it reachs 200,000k  and the quote for sevice was $8,000 as dealer said at this stage it needs new heads. but he sold it got a Toyota equivelent.
so don't feel too bad boys & girls Cheers

Got the 45k service done today,

$100 plus oil which I supplied ($60) also got one of those tyres I picked up fitted to the spare rim.

Oh and they washed the car too. When has your dealer ever done that for free?

They washed my car as part of the free 1000k service...... :D

My car's going in for it's 30,000k service on Thursday. I'm supplying oil and filters (oil, cabin & fuel) and they've quoted me a rough price of around $230....

15,000km service was done on my baby the other day. They charged $280.  They quoted $580 for 30,000km. He looked on his computer and could see what other hyundai service departments were charging?  apparently  $650-680
