Just watched a minute or so - looks much better than the 1st :goodjob:

What did you do/set differently?

On a different note, I've found, over the past 14 months or so, that I've become paranoid about starting a journey when my cam is not running. Or even worse, when I've left it at home

Cleaning the greasy finger print off the lens was the major one, Steve.....  :D
That and I used a larger SD card. That shouldn't really have made any difference though as it was the same class as the other one. (class 4)

It is quite smooth and I like the stability of the mount. It is a bit clearer than the first but not quite as sharp with signs as my Benq M1 but overall probably better (more suitable) as an in car camera than the Benq and cheaper too (the Benq was $150)

  • Sorry, but my karma just ran over your dogma.
Looked good to me, rustynutz.

A couple of comments; your windscreen needs a good clean and those roadside trees are going too fast.

Thanks for that Rusty.
I think this will do me, for what I want and at that price.
I'm not asking you to post night vision, but do you know if it works ok at night time?

Thanks all..... :whistler:

Daz, did you watch it in the higher quality?
I know it's not as good as your cam or my good camera but for what it is, I reckon it's worth the price.  :)

Um, I was hooking along fairly fast as I know the road like the back of my hand....
Oh, and sorry about the windscreen, I noticed it was filthy but wasn't gonna go back home to clean it.  :-[

Dave, I haven't tried it at night yet.....but, seeing as you're such a good bloke, I will go out and try it right now...... :D
Could be interesting as it's peeing down rain at the moment.

I take any offers of money... :p

Anyhow, I'm back and I have to admit I'm quite surprised.

If you feel like waiting awhile, I can try uploading it to youtube...... :D

Apologies for the lack of music soundtrack  :-[

Now that was tons better, except the sound, it sounds as tho the wheel bearings...   actually it sounds as thought there are no wheel bearings.....

I would have been able to read the road signs this time, except, that were whizzing by at a rate of knots..

Not sure what's causing the racket, Asa....It was just as bad on the first Video which is why I added the music.

Dave, not sure how long it will take to upload, I suspect a while as just that little bit I did ended up being around 323mb and my upload speed is pretty ordinary.
If I was a wiz at editing like Daz, I'd just chop a couple of minutes out of it and post that.....but, I'm not.... :-[

So you'll have to bear with me...... :undecided:

Not sure what's causing the racket
dismantling your device may reveal a source of rattle (I do remember reading about a similar problem with older DOD camcorders, that some owners have experienced, so they glued something inside to get rid of rattle)

You ordered from Ebay? At what price?
Does it really turns on with the car ignition as advertised?

Rusty, thanks for going out at night in the rain to do that for me  :goodjob:
I'm going to get one. It's all I need and at that price I reckon it's a good buy.

That was interesting .. I liked the way it didn't hunt for focus (guess it is fixed focus??) I would have had to put the focus lock on on ours... :undecided:

The NAVIG(8)R CRASH CAM does not appear to be sold in the UK - unless it is badged as another brand here. All the Google hits are for Australian sources.

Unless someone can advise me otherwise of course.................

rustynutz, can you post some pics of how you've set the camera up, please?

I'm sure I'm not the only one who would be interested in seeing your setup. ;)
