If only our batsmen could make some runs we might have a chance.

Oh I just opened this thread.  To answer your question 'No'.   The cricket over here doesn't begin to almost midnight, I retire to bed by 11 to 11:30.   I don't do catch up TV cos I don't have time to see all that's on live TV never mind recorded stuff.

So, you lads out there in the colonies enjoy yourselves  :goodjob: :goodjob: :goodjob: :goodjob:

You should be grateful we didn't send Freddie Flintoff.

(1 Flintoff could bleed 3 of your watering holes dry)

Clarkey was a bit over the top, offering to f......g break Jimmy Anderson's arm.  Not cricket that.

Sledging is fair enough but arm breaking is a bit much.

Anyway, well done to the Aussie Team, bad luck to the English, off to Adelaide for the next one.

Yes, I am a cricket tragic. :blubber:

Nasty sledging like Clarke's, or Warner calling Trott (I think) 'weak' - do the Aussies have to go that low?

It can come back to haunt, these childish comments can have a very positive impact on the "victims" in just the same way as booing a national anthem can turn good players brilliant.

Well we'll all know in time and let's not forget... It's a game...

Come On Englaaaaaand!

Yes... I for one question the selectors here.
On going for a past promotion in my previous line of business, I was asked by my department Head what things I should always consider before embarking on a disciplinary action.

I went through a few obvious ones but he reminded me that outside of work everyone has SOMETHING going on in their private lives, that may be influencing their performance.

I feel Jonathan Trott may be in such a position, there's nothing in the Aussie cricket arsenal to scare anyone TBH!

Trott does not deal with bowling reaching 85mph and above very well, we know that from his past form.

There were a few who questioned if he was up to the current series and maybe he walked before he got pushed. I'm not saying that he hasn't got some personal problems causing him stress - but being chucked out of the team would probably have made them worse. :)

Don't judge Jonathan Trott harshly, Len Hutton struggled too - on Ashes tours (http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/cricket/international/theashes/10472900/Dont-judge-Jonathan-Trott-harshly-Len-Hutton-struggled-too-on-Ashes-tours-Down-Under-there-is-no-hiding-place.html)

I hope Trotty gets better, and beats his anxiety, stress and depression.  He is a fine batsman.

David Warner was completely out of order telling the media that Trott was scared of the Aussie bowlers.

Warner might be a good batsman, but he is a an idiot at times too. :workitout:

I hope the Aussie and England players shake hands over a Coopers Ale in Adelaide and get on with it. :drinks:
