We were watching it on the news and my daughter said she doesn't look too bad for 50 (53 actually).
I said, "She's 50???????????".
My wife said, "Stop right there Trevor".

Note the "TrevOR" not just "Trev".

Whilst the photos in the paper didn't do her justice (understandable, given what she'd been through), she is extremely well kept.  :)

Here's a better one (or two):

Just been on the 11am bbc news that the police are reviewing the photo's in the sunday paper to see if an offence has been committed.

I think they have to be ultra careful as pictures can distort what actually happened as the report i read doesn't specifically state eye witnesses saw her being assaulted.

Post by: Doggie 1 on June 17, 2013, 11:36:45
Reports over here have said that people saw him with first one hand on her throat and then two hands around her throat.
Hopefully they get enough to lock him up.

The pollis can't do anything unless a crime has been reported, can they?
Title: Re: Nigella
Post by: Doggie 1 on June 17, 2013, 11:40:54
Over here, not for assault.
If it was an unlawful wounding (stabbing) they can, but for assault they need a willing complainant.
We have pretty strong domestic violence laws here though. Not sure what they're like in the U.K.

Rich Pr*#k or not, wouldn't have wanted to done it in front of me,assaulting a woman, child or older person is the act of a coward, thing that surprised me IS NO ONE went to her aid or even asked if she was OK when she was leaving,Pr*#k should be hung by his nuts until they drop off.

I used to be in charge of the West Australian state wide policy section on DV so have had a fair bit to do with it.
As I have seen reported, Nigella may have tried to placate him so as not to create a scene.
My (now deceased) friend, Rebecca, was somewhat of a pioneer in this area.
Other than that, it's difficult to comment further as we don't know the facts, but there's no excuse for it.

Update

In Monday's Evening Standard, Mr Saatchi said: "About a week ago, we were sitting outside a restaurant having an intense debate about the children, and I held Nigella's neck repeatedly while attempting to emphasise my point.

"There was no grip, it was a playful tiff.

"Nigella's tears were because we both hate arguing, not because she had been hurt.

A caution!    :disapp:  Never an excuse to do that to your spouse.   :disapp:

If he behaves like that in public, imagine what he would be capable of doing in the privacy of their home.

I hope she moves on and finds someone who treats her with the respect she (and everyone) deserves.
