Sharp has released what it says is the biggest LED TV ever to go on sale in Europe.

We have a 44" LED TV which shows 44" of unadulterated shite and trite programmes.

Why on earth anyone would want to double their exposure to the current broadcasting tripe is a mystery.

This bit surprised me..

"Fifty inch-and-larger TVs represent 6% of units currently sold in the UK"

I'm sure it is a much higher rate in Australia now (approaching 50% maybe)

Liars!!  I'm looking at 15" right now, and typing on the keyboard below it.

I have 50" and a 42", does that mean I have 92"?

How is the tablet going?

I have become a big fan of Asus and android 4. The T201 transformer is so well made and with the Transformer/ keyboard combo is very versatile with great battery life. I love the way you can install and uninstall apps in the blink of an eye. I still prefer the laptop or desktop for some stuff though.

I'll see your 92 and raise you:
55" in the rear loungeroom + 42" in the formal loungeroom + 32" in the first bedroom +26" in the boy's bedroom = 155" not counting 3 desktops, 3 laptops and a tablet. :P

well when I finally look at the TV,ours is a 32 inch, and in a five by five metre room I still reckon thats too damned big.
The BIL had a 55" in his family room and I can't watch it,all it does is hurt my eyes

More about brand and type than size in my opinion (worked in the industry for nearly 20 years)

Early Plasma in particular and some early LCD TV's had lots of issues. Later sets are proving a lot more reliable  :goodjob:

Plasma are now quite reliable but generally heavier on power than the new LED sets (which are my pick until OLED becomes affordable)

Never mind 90 inch tellies, they're small screen in comparison with this bad boy:

I use a 32" TV in my small living room for everyday viewing, though I have a projector and screen to watch stuff which is 'better if bigger' - films, wildlife progs etc. - complete with appropriate sound system.

I'm surprised this new 90" TV is only 1080p capable. :)

A projector can be a good option for just occasional use, however I could never find an affordable one with the contrast and sharpness to rival a flat panel tv. They always look washed out to me even in a darkened room.  :undecided:
