A local obviously very wealthy Devonport freight company owner (Chas Kelly) had a genuine one he bought new. He put it in the Targa Tas in 1992 (see story below) and drove it into a tree. Had to go back to Italy for repair (cost hundreds of thousands to fix apparently) :crazy1:

Ooooops. A lucky escape him :twisted: There was one that had belonged to an Italian family sold recently for around $2,000,000. We should have bought a couple each when they were cheaper and less popular, we could have retired like the other VIPs.
Good article too Dazz, them were the good old days; :goodjob2: Moss, Brabam and Hulme, drivers who were real men, not like these mollycoddled pansies who flit around Bathurst today. :happydance:

Yesterday, I met up for lunch with another talentless old fart :Pout:
We tried to remember the good old days when we worked to together.
That was all too hard so...... :goodjob2: .....
we went back to his shed to look at his latest projects.

1952 Chev Ute restored throughout to new condition

Circa 1924 Ford A racing car, Model A restored then replica (hand made) body fitted.

Now has full road reg, which also allows the complete open exhaust :phone1: all complaints handled by other deaf inmates.

@nzenigma
Wow! They're nice projects. This will get lost in the joke section. Hope you don't mind but I'll add it to your other car thread.

"Talentless old farts" my arse .
If I start now, and do 50 hrs a week, I might be that good In 10 years time.
As Anita said" oh, to be so hopeless " . :victory:
-
@mickd For you mate , :D
Mick seemed to appreciate Bill's talent here's another ground up restoration. Being an ex-boat builder helps.
Its a circa 1924 ??? Armstrong Siddeley. Only had rear drum brakes and NO ESP :crazy2:

One of his early creations was a 1928 Ford Model A 'Woody'.(Surfer Wagon) He copied factory drawings to make the same finger jointed wheel arches etc. etc. It won awards as he toured the East Coast. may have been to Tazzie, the remaining neuron tells me :Pout:.
When we were building pole houses together, the rule was; no gaps in the floor boards butting up to the poles, all work must be ' fart proof '. :mrgreen:
