I get a slight burning smell coming from my i30 . It has done 31k and I don't drive it like an F1 driver. Any ideas what this could be ?. Whenever I smell burning I always fear it could be the clutch. it is a 13 plate so surely the clutch would have a couple more years left in it. Also does anyone know if the 5 year warranty covers the clutch?.

Think 2 years or 24,000 miles for clutch excludes fair wear and tear.

  • 1.4 Petrol Active I'm no expert, so please correct me if

It's when the DPF is regenerating.

The temperature will reach ca 800ÂșC when doing that. If you stop the car when, or just after that regeneration, you can smell the hot metal. Doesn't smell very nice, but nothing to worry about...
