If your car is the same as ours over here,as soon as you lock the doors the alarm is armed, will only active when someone is trying to break in,if your talking the chirp, when you lock the car,not an option on the early FD I30's(not that I'm aware of and been told by the dealers)

Unlock the door and open it with the KEY without using the fob.  Then let us all know what happens  :goodjob: :goodjob: :goodjob: :goodjob:

or

sit in the car, key in hand, and lock the car by pressing the lock button on the remote.

wait about 2 minutes and pop the bonnet by pulling the lever by your knee and the alarm should sound.

put key in ignition and start car to turn off alarm
  • 1.4 Petrol Active I'm no expert, so please correct me if

I guess it is quite the same as yours I bought it from south Korea it is the one that is full options as keyless entry and keyless ignition full touch dashboard and everything works by touch and the smart remote came with just 3 buttons (arming, disarming, and the hatchback door ) there is no 4th button for the alarm.
Here is a pic for my remote

I  cannot sit in the car and arm the car by the remote because simply it won't arm itself because of the smart key.

Had concerns about my i30 alarm when new, even though I found it worked.  Problem being unlike my previous car, there is no flashing light inside confirming it's activated

I know that it absolutely works in my car but the problem is that I don't know how to activate it

On my former FD model (2008 CRDi) it became active 30 seconds after the doors were remote-locked.
