Title: Blown 150A Fusible link
Post by: Alec on July 11, 2018, 05:56:55
Someone connected jumper leads the wrong way around and blew a 150A Fusible Link on my 2009 CW. RAC bypassed it.
Where do I go to get a replacement, and is it just a case of screwing it in? I can't find anything online.

:link: 5Pcs Fuse 150A AMP AFS Small Wafer Style Fuse 32V For Audio/Car/RV/Boat Stereo B | eBay (https://www.ebay.com/itm/5Pcs-Fuse-150A-AMP-AFS-Small-Wafer-Style-Fuse-32V-For-Audio-Car-RV-Boat-Stereo-B/263720649752?hash=item3d66f9c418:g:o3kAAOSw-3FZGz7p)

Undo the screws, place the link in, retighten. Or you could try just about any auto electrician and ask for a piece of 150A fusible wire and do what the RAC did.

Could just hit the wreckers, not something you'd expect to hunt or any decent auto sparky

Testing is to run the car normally. If everything works, the fuse is OK. Easier than probing each end with a multimeter for continuity. Keep it simple and just make sure the screw connections are tight.
