Well guys I have been an accountant for some time. Recently I called myself a "chief cook and bottle washer" because I seem to get a lot of the problem jobs associated with accounting and systems.
In semi retirement I spend a lot of time trying to help out my 93 year old Mum, work at accounting two days a week.

Interests have been in computers, boats, fishing, motor bikes, cars, building (house renovations), rifle target shooting, water skiing, snow skiing and socialising, {drinking and BBQ's} (like most blokes) now resting the old worn out bones.

Interesting that we seem to be from a very varied age group and with a wide diversity jobs. Good one.

Regards Olddude

G'day all,

I'm in the Navy, work in the Aviation world (helicopters). Having a go at driving a desk for a while (more time at home with the wife and kids).

I'm a freelance writer and researcher. I work from home so my i30 spends most of the day under my carport.

Well just to keep the topic rolling - I work for a hi-tech manufactuing company, I'm something to do with their IT function (not really sure), and it basically involves being shouted at in French and then using Alta-Vista babel fish to try and figure out what objectives my boss has just set me.

I'm a failed PPL (plank driver) and owned a 32 foot motor cruiser for a few years.  Which was mainly used for smuggling lots of cheap French wine from Cherbourg to Chichester.   Fortunately I used to drink the all of the product so never made a profit, but had a lot of great friends.

Father to two short people who consume the bulk of my spare time. :D

Medical sales, to doctors offices and hospitals. A great vehicle for carrying supplies, samples and equipment. The gas economy is a big plus versus my SUV.

Looks like there's a few but add another to the Mechanical Engineer list. Studying Electrical Engineering though.

I work for an international consultancy in the fields of asset management, reliability engineering, lean / six sigma implementation, condition monitoring (I have done my own engine oil analysis), FEA / CFD analysis, thermodynamic performance, greenhouse gas emissions advising, reporting and auditing, so basically whatever will keep me in a job. I hate timesheets with a passion

I am an Electrical Engineer and work as a student researcher at the Faculty of Electrical engineering in Ljubljana, Slovenia.

I really can't get the questions like 'How does it work?' out of my mind.
For my previous car I designed a trip computer that monitored the consumption of gas and LPG separately, showing me the separate milleage for both fuels (both calibrated down to 0.1 l/100km). Due to the day lacking more than 24 hours, I haven't done any 'modification' to my i30 yet. But I'm sure I will find something...
Some things already bother me - why is the button for the trip computer behind the wheel??? ... or....  why does the cluster illumination does not take the sun (A/C already measures its intensity) into the account (during the night, all those blue LEDs really shine, while during the day I have to set the illumination to the max to see anything on the display).... (and others  :D)

I am a retired wire burner/boilermaker.  My actual trade is a blacksmith/farrier.

But I have also been a car detailer, car salesman tyre fitter/salesman , wedding photographer, truck driver, horse groomer plus a few other things along the way.

Now I am the chief bottle washer, dog looker after and car cleaner.

As for the wife, she is a senior lecturer in journalism/multimedia. As I tell ppl, my wife has a PhD but I don't have a J.O.B
