I would more so if they were a progressive company like Hyundai. I have visited their design studio in Russelshiem, it's very modern & impressive to say the least. So, even in 2003 I could see the writing on the wall, so to speak. That's what impressed me about this model i30. It has euro DNA coursing through it. It's not Asian by any means. Not that it's an issue, it's not like a Honda's style. Japan was losing it's style before the 86 & FJ landcruiser. Hyundai & Kia will grow & grow....

It's a recipe that works. No doubt the European design is what the world wants but is usually too expensive. The Korean's have managed to capture this and the general public are voting with their cheque books. The other Euro brands can not rest on their past reputations or they'll find themselves on the outer. There's only a limited amount of selling that you can achieve by brand name alone.

Thanks guys, yes retirement is tough but someone has to do it. I did 36 years in NSW Police, retiring as a Chief Inspector, not so long ago. My last adventure on the big ships - Arcadia, Sydney to Southampton, 49 days in March/April this year. Next one, March 2014, Golden Princess - 31 days, Buenos Aires to Los Angeles. I hope I get decent economy out of my new i30, so I can save some $.

So a few retired cops on here eh? Good to see yall driving Hyundais. Now I have to get the 'Boss' out of her Nissan Micra and into a Hyundai i20, one day!

When you mentioned Arcadia, Lester, I thought surely this ship can't still be cruising.
I remember as a kid seeing it in port many, many times. Fremantle Harbour was somewhere I loitered a lot as I always wanted to go into the merchant navy as a navigator, 3rd officer, 2nd officer, etc etc, but it never happened.
