My "base" salary is $132k pa, + I get $133 per day (tax free) that I am away from home + $800 for taking an extra day to get home. So really my package is about $200k pa. Not bad considering I only fly on average of three times per tour. Lucky I get paid for what I can do and what I know, not what I actually do. Some of the "drillers" on the rigs get in excess of $300k pa with a 28/28 roster.
Tassie pay rates are poor.
