Hi I have the same problem crankshaft thrust bearing has had a major failure. 2009 I 30 full service 70k on motor. Crank has 3/8 of an inch end play in it , sump removed its laying at the bottom of the sump

Talking to Hyundai about repair under warranty even though its over 5 years. The motor should not have that kind of failure with low ks on it, hope they do the right thing

Depends a lot on the dealer and if they are likely to go in to bat for you. I'd be very (pleasantly ) surprised if they come to the party I'm sorry to say.

Hi all its a 12/2009 built I 30 2.0l manual had from new always serviced by Hyundai on time 68,500 ks Dealer is doing all they can for me they are after a short motor. From what I can tell its a manufacturing fault, the part should last the life of the engine. Looks like Hyundai have a problem with their 2009 model
