I think he makes some good points. Few if any members who have done the noise reducing exercise with extra insulation or a wheel/tyre change have had substantial improvements.

You don't agree Trevor? I know you can make some difference, but you can't really make a silk purse out of a sow's ear.
I kind of see his point about looking for a quiet car in the first place rather than changing one that is noisier, if noise is a priority too.
Plus, while you can make a bit of difference with a tyre or wheel change I've seldom if ever witnessed or heard of a dramatic improvement.
